stopping of the sound output

Post by olivier.leydier » Sat Nov 20, 2021 9:29 pm

Hello,
first of all sorry for my english, this is a machine translation.
I had a sound output bug
The sound stopped while reading, the playback pointer continued to advance,
the vu-meters continued to modulate but the software on my sound card (scarlett 4i4) was no longer receiving a signal.
After restarting the software the sound returns.
As the sound stopped it emitted like a squeal.
Thanks for your interest,
Olivier

That wouldn't be caused by SCS. The VU meters monitor the final outputs from SCS. Do you have the latest Scarlett driver installed?

Hello,
yes these are the last driver. The problem could be caused by a difference in sample rate between the audio file and the sound card configuration ?

Please email me the log file from a run in which the sound stopped, and I'll have a look at your setup to see if I can advise on any changes. A log file will have been created and saved in a folder named "SCS Logs" under "Documents", and the name of the file includes a time-stamp indicating when the log started.

Olivier.leydier,
I had the this problem with a scarlet 18i8. In my case, the cause was the usb connectors. At shows I tape the usb cable to the table.
I can reproduce the problem if I move the usb connector.
I had crashes with Cubase due to the same problem.

May be you can fix the issue using another usb cable.

Hope this helps,
Lluís

I tested by changing the cable but no improvement. On the other hand I realized that when I lose the sound output, the software reading pointer advances much more slowly (about 10 seconds for 1 second of sound).

Please email me the log from that run - just that one log - no others.
