Registered users with current update plans (including users who purchased or upgraded their SCS license during the last 12 months) may now download
SCS 11.4.2 from the
Members' Download page.
New and Changed Features in SCS 11.4.2
- Audio File Cues with linked sub-cues may now include a loop. The loop (if required) is specified in the first of the Audio File sub-cues, and the loop may also be automatically applied to the linked sub-cues. A new Loop Linked checkbox is provided in the Editor for Audio File cues to indicate that any linked sub-cues are to have the loop applied to those sub-cues as well.
- Under Options / Audio Driver Settings / DirectSound, the option to use or not use the BASS mixer has been removed. SCS now always uses the BASS mixer (unless SoundMan-Server is the selected Audio Driver). The Options for setting the playback buffer size and update period have also been removed.
- SCS now calls a Windows function to prevent the system entering sleep or turning off the display while SCS is running. Preventing the system entering sleep should fix an issue caused by some audio device drivers that resulted in cues not playing. This occurred particularly with ASIO drivers.
- Improvements have been made to the performance of generating and displaying the audio graph for Audio File Cues in the Editor.
- In Control Send Cues where the remote device is a Network OSC device, you can now send any OSC message using the new Free Format command type. Please see the Help for details.
- Fixed a few errors.
Some features are not available in all license levels. Please check the 'Feature Comparison' section of the Help for details.
Many thanks to those who have assisted in testing features in this release, and in updating translation databases.

SCS 11.4.2.1 has now been released, primarily to fix a few issues in 11.4.2.
Changed Features in SCS 11.4.2.1
- Reinstated the option to use or not use the BASS mixer. This was because using the BASS mixer can cause a slight delay in starting a cue when using DirectSound as the Audio Driver. SCS automatically switches (if necessary) to using the BASS mixer if, on opening a cue file, it finds one or more cues with the Loop Linked property set.
- SCS now displays a warning if a Device Map File cannot be found for a cue file being opened. Normally this should only occur if the cue file has been manually renamed or has been copied from another computer.
- Fixed a few errors.
Some features are not available in all license levels. Please check the 'Feature Comparison' section of the Help for details.
Note: Although the option to use or not use the
BASS mixer has been reinstated, I am currently trialing a possible solution to the issue of the BASS mixer causing a slight delay in starting cues when using DirectSound.

SCS 11.4.2.2 has now been released. This fixes a bug in 11.4.2.1 that could cause the premature termination of an audio file cue.

SCS 11.4.2.3 has now been released. Unfortunately there was a bug in earlier versions of 11.4.2 that could cause SCS to loop when calculating the length of an SFR cue.
