Hope someone can help me with a little issue I've been having...
I'm about to run sound and images for a production of 'Oh What a Lovely War'. This is the first time I've used the image side of SCS and just wanted to know if I'm doing it correctly.
I don't think the slide show setting is right for what I want to do as I don't seem to be able to have the kind of control I want. From what I understand, the slide show just displays each image in order for the duration you set it to? Because the play doesn't require a continuous slide show of images, I've treated the images as I would sound cues...
What I've done is enter each image as a separate cue throughout the cue list, as the images appear at various points during the play. Some are stand-alone and some correspond with lyrics in the songs. This seems to be working ok, however, on occasion, some of my images don't appear. For example, I have a pre-recorded song that simultaneously displays image 1 at the start, followed by auto-playing images at points throughout the song - say image 2 at 11.2secs in, image 3 at 15.4 secs in, image 4 at 20secs in, and so on.
This could be the past-it processor/graphics card on my editing PC, but during the above sequence some of the images will run correctly while others just say 'Ready (auto)' and not run. This, incidentally, appears to happen randomly and not always with the same images, and sometimes runs perfectly. Does this sound like a limitation on my PC, or something I've not done correctly? Our club has a brand new decent-spec laptop that will be used for the production so I'm hoping these 'freezes' won't occur.

Re: Using images for the first time
Could you email me a diagnostic file? You can create this file by starting SCS and selecting 'Create Diagnostic File' from the drop-down menu displayed when you click the Help button in the main window. The file will be saved in a folder named "SCS Diagnostics" under "Documents" or "My Documents".
(If you're using a version of SCS 11 prior to 11.3 then the diagnostic file will be saved in a folder named "SCS Dumps".)
Please let me know which image cues don't appear.
