Editor Issues (fixed)

Post by charlespuckett » Tue Jun 12, 2012 10:16 am

I am new to SCS 10 (long time 9 user, just upgraded). Now I'm in the middle of play week, setting up a show, and things are weird.
* The editor ALWAYS adds a cue at the end, no matter which cue I select
* try to move a cue, it basically disppears. I see it for one move, then it disappears, and the list gets screwed up
* I cannot select a cue in the editor. When I bring up the editor, it shows the first cue. Clicking another cue has no effect.
I'm on Win 7, an HP laptop with lots of horsepower. I need to figure our w.t.f. is going on, and in a hurry. In the theatre as I write, having to manually select and start cues. Never had any trouble like this with SCS 9. Maybe I should go back to 9?

PLEASE SEND HELP!!

Sounds to me like SCS has not been fully installed. In the Editor, do the cues in the cue list have colored backgrounds such as shown here, or do they have a white background? If the background is white this is a sure sign that SCS has not been fully or properly installed. Try reinstalling SCS from the setup file. Note that you must run the setup file (eg scs10comset.exe or SCS_10.9.7_win32-setup.exe).

They all have a blue background (at this point, nothing but audio cues).
I'll re-install.
One thing I noticed: If I select a cue in the main window and invoke editor, I can edit that cue. I just can't select another cue to edit.
Another thing: unless I start SCS As Administrator, I can't even invoke the editor. I get lots of "can't use GUI control" messages (sounds like a Windows Registry problem).

That definitely sounds like the installation issue I mentioned. A few other users encountered this, and it was fixed by reinstalling.

Haven't heard of this one before, but I expect most users install and run SCS using an Administrator account. If you can do that then this should help you get going.

I reinstalled, this seems to have fixed the anomalies I was experiencing.
Thanx
