Bug in 10.9.7

Post by Eric Snodgrass » Sun Apr 29, 2012 3:35 pm

An interesting little bug. Using 10.9.7, I load any .scsq file, then open the Editor.
Let's say the first cue is highlighted in both the Editor and Playback windows. In the Editor, if I used the arrows to move the cue down the list, it moves fine. In the playback list the cue also moves BUT the name of the highlighted cue stays the same as the moved cue.
For example, using the SCS Demo file, Q1 is Fanfare and is highlighted as the next cue to play.
In the Editor, highlight Fanfare and use the arrows only to move it down two spots.
Then notice that in the Playback window that Q1 Fanfare has moved down two spots BUT is also still listed at the top as the next cue to play, even though it is Q2 Helicopter that is cued up and ready to play.
So the name isn't changing UNTIL you go into the Playback window and highlight another cue. Then the proper name for Q2 Helicopter shows up.

This only happens when using the arrows to move cues. It does not happen when dragging cues to different spots in the Editor.
This is repeatable on completely different machines and .scsq files. I have not tested it on any other version of SCS.

I confirm what Eric described, plus a couple more observations...

The HOME key does not change the first cue to start either unless some subsequent cue has been selected.

Mouse clicks on the arrow icons on the left in the editor are ignored if done too rapidly. As an example, lets say you wanted to move Q1 down 2 positions. Clicking twice quickly on the down arrow results in the cue moving only one position.

Hmm. Didn't know about that, but I've found the bug is already fixed in SCS 11, except that the 'Go' button and 'Next Manual Cue' were not updated. That also is now fixed in SCS 11, ready for Beta 25 or RC1 - whichever is the next release.

Rapid mouse clicks of the arrow buttons are handled in SCS 11. A fix for the HOME key issue is ready for the next SCS 11 release.
