Pan Change problem

Post by ronb999 » Sun Feb 19, 2012 12:50 am

I have a problem with 10.9.4 ( and in fact all releases since Device mapper was introduced). I create an audio cue with centre pan. Add a level change cue that moves the pan to left over 5 seconds, and another that moves the pan to right over 5. When I run the first cue music comes out centre as you would expect. Cue 2 fade time moves, but the white 'target' pan stays where it is & on cue 1 the pink marker stays firmly in the centre. Same with cue 3. Tried it on 2 machines, both running XP but different sound cards. Same problem. In 10.7.6 - no problem. Anybody help? Obviously something to do with Device Mapper - device map shows FOH as 2 (stereo) & channels 1-2 of my soundcard.

Cheers
Ron

Bug confirmed. It's not actually the Device Mapper that's the problem but the changes in SCS 10.9. I'll have another look at the relevant changes in 10.9. Meanwhile, you can get around the error by selecting the 'internal mixer' in Permanent Options / Audio Driver.

You should find this fixed in 10.9.5 RC1 which I have just uploaded. Please let me know if this version does give you correct panning.

Sorry, Mike, but 10.9.5 doesn't cure the problem. It goes away only by using the SCS internal mixer - which will do for now! As I said, it wasn't just 10.9 but 10.8 as well - basically all releases after 10.7.6.

Can you email me the cue file (the .scsq file) that you have tried with 10.9.5, and tell me one or more cues that are not panning?
