Implementing mono outputs with Roland Octa-Capture

Post by ryanchris2009 » Thu Jan 19, 2012 12:40 pm

Could someone help me out with getting SCS set up to send 5 mono outputs using the Roland Octa-Capture? I need to send out to 4 separate speakers and a subwoofer, preferably without having to go through a separate mixer and aux sends, which is how I've achieved multiple speaker selection in the past. I'd like to go straight out of the Octa-Capture to a series of 32 band EQ's (to adjust for the subwoofer) and directly into the amps. Thanks.

(Split topic from 'Supported Audio Devices')

In Production Properties, set up your sound devices as 5 mono devices. I don't have an Octa-Capture so I can only guess at what choices you have under 'Physical Device', but if the Octa Capture shows stereo pairs then for your 1st mono device select the stereo pair 1-2 and select 'L' as the 'Output'; for your 2nd mono device select the same stereo pair but select 'R' as the output; for your 3rd mono device select the stereo pair 3-4 and select 'L' as the 'Output', and so on.

Thanks Mike. That actually helped. I did find that you have to change a Patchbay setting so that output 1 & 2 respond to WAVE 1-2, not Mix A, which will basically put a mix of everything into the 1-2 outputs.
