SCS returning message -
Seial Device RS232 is required for control send cues but no serial device is available on this computer.
RS232 enabled in Bios etc. and have tried on a second PC with same message returned.
Have use SCS with RS232 on other PC's with no problem, so familiar with RS232 setup.
Anyone any ideas please.
Thanks.

Re: RS232 control problem.
Please list details of your setup (operating system, hardware, etc.) and what you are attempting to control.

Re: RS232 control problem.
Hmm. The message might be misleading. Go to General Options / Permanent Options and click on the RS232 Control tab. Do you have a Com Port selected for RS232 Out? If not then this is probably the reason for the message, so select a Com Port for RS232 Out, adjust the settings if necessary, and then click OK.

Re: RS232 control problem.
I'll start at the begining..............
Been using Multiplay with success for a few years but now need to cue video, so decided to give SCS a try.
Downloaded the trial version and instaled on the first machine I found with serial port still fitted - a 12 year old biege box sat in the corner gathering dust!
Intel mobo and running XP (just).
Connected to projector via RS232, popped in the hex codes and all worked well. Switching projector on/off, blanking etc. no problem other than the PC was far to slow!
Pleased with the results I'm thinking I'll get alittle demo together to show the people that hold the purse strings and persuade them to part with the £97 to purchase the program.
Installs SCS to better spec machine Intel p / via chipset mobo, clean install XP and then SCS started with the posted message.
Two days after no success decides mobo is fualty, so replaced mobo with AMD / SIS chipset and clean istall XP. Same message!
Purchase USB to serial adaptor - still no joy.
Gets my mate IT guru to have a look, shows him the working machine and then the machine that wont work. After an hour he walks away clueless.
So as last ditch install it to my laptop - same message!!
I've tested com ports via Hyperterminal and some other free software and the appear to work fine.
I'm not using any different setting to that on the 'working' machine but still having no joy!
Buy the way...I can telnet the projector with success on any of the machines, sadly this won't be a option.
Thanks for your replies.

Re: RS232 control problem.
I've emailed you details of a tracing version to run so I can check which serial ports can be seen by SCS.
