cannot load cue......

I've twice recently got the 'cannot load file' message while editing and running through cues. Both times, closing the program and restarting cured the problem, but you can't do that if it happens during a show.........

What might be causing cues which normally play properly to suddenly fail to load?

Under General Options / Permanent Options what do you have against 'Max. No. of Audio Files to Pre-Open'? The default setting is 5 but you can increase that significantly. What may be happening is that SCS is not opening sufficient files in advance due to other cues running - SCS generally does not open a new audio file while another is playing. However, if you increase this option setting it is more likely that the required file(s) will be open when they are needed.

The maximum setting for this field is 50, but I suggest you try something like 15 or 20.
