MIDI MSC with ETC Smartfade 2496
MIDI MSC with ETC Smartfade 2496
Anyone have experience interfacing SCS with the Smartfade 2496? We purchased SCS a few weeks ago and so far have been unable to get SCS to trigger cues on the Smartfade. We are using a USB to MIDI adapter that works with other applications and is able to capture outgoing MIDI signals from the board so I thing we have settings OK and a functioning adapter. The board has been updated with the latest firmware version and it supposedly accepts MSC commands according to the new manual. Is there some alternate code to send for a go command that will work with this board?

Re: MIDI MSC with ETC Smartfade 2496
I've just downloaded the Smartfade User Manual and from what I can see SCS should be able to communicate successfully with this device. Smartfade accepts MSC and also accepts a 'Basic MIDI Implementation' that uses Controllers, Program Change and Note On/Off.
In SCS, what do you have set under General Options / Permanent Options / MIDI Devices & Control? If you are wanting to send MIDI to the 2496 then you need to have the required MIDI port selected under MIDI Devices / Out. No other settings are necessary in this Option tab if you are only wanting to send MIDI from SCS to the 2496.
Next, can you provide details of a Control Send cue you have set up? Could you email me your cue file (the .scs or .scsq file)?
