preshow music playlist into show

Hi all,

This is only my second show with this software and it's been a while so bear with me...

I want to have pre-show music as a playlist on Q1, then fade what ever song it's on and go into the show's "Theme tune" which I'll fade out as the curtains open.

I've assigned my theme music cue to a hotkey, what I would like is to hit the hotkey, for Q1 - the playlist to fade out and stop and my theme music to fade in but I just can't get it to work, if I press the fade-out key on the currnet pre-show track, it fades wonderfully... into the next pre-music track on the Q1 playlist cue...

I'm sure this is basic stuff but it's just not going well!

Both cues are set to "exclusive" but when I start q2/theme q1 is still going..

Rather than using a hot key, why not just set up the following sequence of cues:

Q1: Preshow Playlist
Q2: Fade of playlist - chose action of "FADE OUT and then STOP"
Q3: Theme music - Set to autostart after end of Q2 and put in desired fade in time
Q4: Fade of theme music - again with action of "FADE OUT and then STOP"
