MIDI

Post by Quique » Sun Jan 11, 2009 8:17 pm

Hi!!

I have a problem with the velocity of midi send.

I use the Motu 828mkII and a audio desk Yamaha 01 96V. (via USB)
I send the musics to PA,downfill,ff,subbass,monitors,etc... by means of the eight channels output and I wanna change the memories on the desk via MIDI.
My problem is the velocity on the change of memories (about 2 or 3 seconds). All the MIDI configurations present the same time.
Anyone have got a solution?

Thank's a lot

Happy new year!!

I don't understand what you mean regarding the 'velocity'. Are you saying that you are trying to send several MIDI Control Change messages together, but that they take 2-3 seconds to be processed? If so, have you set up these Control Change messages as multiple entries on a single Control Send subcue, or have you set up separate subcues or cues for each Control Send?

Hi!!

I'm sorry Mike my English is very poor!!
Yes my problem is the time to be processed a MIDI Control Change message.
I use a separate cues for each Control Send.
e.g. My first cue is a (audio file cue) PLay music
My second cue is a (control send cue) in this point I wanna change to memory 2 on Yamaha 01 96V via MIDI
When I execute this order I have the problem. I can change the memory, but this operation take several seconds.

On the menu MIDI devices & control I test all configurations with the same result

I hope explained to you better my problem

Sending the MIDI Control Change message should take place 'instantly' when you activate the Control Send cue. So what is taking 'several seconds''? If you ignore the Audio File cue and just activate the Control Send cue, does the memory change on the Yamaha occur almost immediately, or does that take several seconds?

Could you email me your cue file (the .scs file) and tell me which cues are examples of this delay?
