Animating/sliding image cues

Post by Craig Johnston » Thu Aug 30, 2018 10:53 pm

Hi,

I've had a search on the forum, but can only see a reference to a similar thing back in 2015, and just wondered if there are any updates/solutions?

For an upcoming production, I need to create a sequence that imitates the 'Tinder' app; ie, the images need to swipe left on the actor's command. I don't think I can easily do this a video sequence, as the timing would vary, and I need to react to the actor. Is it possible to have an image slide off to reveal the next in the sequence, rather than a straight 'jump cut' or fade to the next?
Our theatre group doesn't use the latest version of SCS (unfortunately I don't have it to hand to check version), so I wondered if it's maybe a feature of the current version?

I understand that SCS can run a PowerPoint presentation, so that is a possible workaround. The theatre we use has a Mac, so another option is to run the sequence on that with Keynote. Would be great if SCS could do it natively, however!

Thanks
Craig

It is complex, but it can be done creating video tracks with the slide of each image.
Each video must start with the slide of the previous image and set the cue to pause at end.
Each time the actor drag an image, the operator triggers the following video with drag and pause.
SCS swaps between videos without black frames.

I've done something like this.

My English is not good enough to write extended explanation, but if you have any question I may try to help you.
Regards,
Lluís

Thanks, Lluís!

That's an option I hadn't really considered, I might run a demo to give it a try. We've had unpredictable results with video in the past, so I was a little wary of going down the video route, but I'll certainly give it a shot!

That's good to know. I really should see about updating to the latest version!
