Hi Mike,
Similar problem to the last one I reported only this time it is affecting video cues. I am using SCS 11.7.1rc3(x64)
I have a video-heavy show next weekend and the cue file stops after the last pre-loaded video, showing all subsequent videos as not loaded. Strangely, although the Max No. of Videos to Pre-open is set to 5, I find that SCS pre-opens 10 videos when it first opens the cue file but when stepping through the cues (which incidentally are all set to repeat with 2 sec fade in/out times) no more files are pre-opened and the cue list stops when it gets to the 11th video cue.
If I hit Esc to cancel the current video cue rather than advancing to the next with the Go button, then SCS does pre-open the next set of videos. So I have one work around but this is not terribly subtle. I have not yet tried pre-opening all the files but I presume this could provide another work around.
Also, despite having set a fade out time for all the videos, the currently playing one just stops rather abruptly without fading out although the next video does fade in as expected.
I enclose a log file for you.
Best wishes
Stuart

Re: Video cues not loading now
There are a few issues here. The fact that SCS pre-opened 10 videos instead of 5 was due to SCS calling the 'open next cues' procedure twice at the start, and obviously not counting the video cues already open. The reason SCS didn't open any more videos was because normally SCS will not open a video file while another video cue is playing, as this has a detrimental effect on the playing video. However, there is code in place (which apparently is not working correctly) to open a video cue anyway if it is the next cue to play. Could you try increasing the 'Max. No. of Video Files to Pre-Open' to 30? This will make opening the cue file take longer, but hopefully will get around the non-opening issue.
Unfortunately TVG doesn't handle cross-fading of videos very well. Internally, in a cross-fade SCS doesn't fade out the first video but just fades in the second video in front of the first video. I've tried various ways to improve the cross-fade but haven't yet come up with a really satisfactory solution. It may be better to just cut from one video to the next, although I have had reports that this does show a brief black image between videos.
I'll continue looking into this, but regret that this will not be before you need it next weekend.

Re: Video cues not loading now
Hi Mike,
I tried increasing the pre-open count to 30 but got the attached error - presumably because my PC had run out of memory. This also happened when I reverted to 11.7.0
Fortunately the producers have provided a backup option for this show using Powerpoint so I will be OK this weekend but it is a shame not to be able to use SCS.
Best wishes
Stuart

Stuart,
Could you email me the log file from that run? The log file is saved as a zip file in a folder named "SCS Logs" under "Documents" or "My Documents". The name of the zip file includes a time-stamp indicating when the log started.
