[Fix 11.7.1] initial use of BCF2000 as control surface

Post by hitnekey » Mon Mar 26, 2018 11:12 pm

Hi Mike,

I've been using SCS very successfully for a number of years now and find it both versatile and intuitive.

I have just obtained a second hand Behringer BCF2000 and am struggling to get it to interface to SCS using the control faders window.

I set up the BCF2000 using the drop down boxes in SCS in the Show fader> Setup using Configuration BCF2000 preset A (8 input) with BCF2000 as both the the Midi in and Midi out.

When I move the on screen fader(s), SCS sends correctly to the BCF2000 and the appropriate fader mimics the on screen fader movement. So this direction of control appears to be ok.

In the other direction, when I hit the 'Go' button on the BCF2000 it operates correctly and SCS plays the next cue. However when I move any BCF2000 fader to control the fader on the SCS screen, I immediately get the error message below and SCS crashes.

error message:

SCS Thread assertion failed.

displayLabelsBASS expected thread #SCS_THREAD_MAIN, but current
thread is 0.

SCS version 11.7.0 (x64).

Please report this problem to support@showcuesystems.com.

Program closing.

I have attached the SCS diagnostic file.

Note: This may not be a bug as the BCF2000 may be set up incorrectly, or since it is a secondhand machine, possibly faulty,

Any thoughts, pointers or advice would be much appreciated.

Kind regards

Peter

I have the same problem with the BCR2000.

Fix ready. I'll email you both when I have a version I can send you.

Hi Mike

I can confirm that the fix you emailed to me works fine for a 64bit machine and all faders move as they should.

Thanks for your very prompt support.

Best wishes

Peter

I can confirm too, that SCS moves the sound faders correctly with BCR2000 with the update you send me Mike. But.... when moving the DMX master fader, the screen jumps up and down like it used to do with the Master sound output in the past. And if you move the DMX fader fast, it takes a while before you can do anything. It takes in too much information from the BCR2000.

That's weird. I can't reproduce that here - adjusting the DMX Master Fader has no negative impact on the screen, whether I use the SCS DMX Master Fader control or the BCR2000 encoder 8. Also, moving the encoder fast produces instant results. I'll email you details of a tracing version to run.
