11.5.3 - MP4 Video randomly mistriggers

Post by murgy91 » Sat Apr 01, 2017 3:53 am

Good afternoon,

I seem to be having a problem more and more with MP4 videos cues, the audio plays every time but randomly the video wont play and instead it just displays black. All images display proprely and when the cue is stopped and replayed sometimes it plays.

I'm using a Surface Pro 4, ive tried outputing to HDMI, VGA, its the same problem. Definitly something with the codecs. On the Video Playback Libary I've changed TVG to VRM9 & VRM7 Like suggested, also standard etc. Same problem.

Can anybody give any advice?

I recommend you download and install LAVFilters. Details are given in the SCS Help topic Video Driver Settings. Note that as from SCS 11.6.0 you can choose an SCS download that includes the LAVFilters installer, but with 11.5.3 you need to download this separately.

If you still have problems with video playback, let me know.

Hi, I had exactly the same problem just with Mp4 videos but only on one show laptop not on the redundant backup laptop. Black screen, then blurred for a few seconds, then ok. It was Codec issue. Used LAV filters suggested by Mike....no problems.

Thanks Mike & Bill, installed and the problem seems to have gone away on my home setup, will test again once I get to the Theatre.

Just for my own peace of mind, will it automatically use LAV instead of the FFDSHOW Codec now? I couldn't find the setting to tell it which to use by default.

The problem has happened again..

At the moment I'm having to go from my MDP to VGA because of the interface, the screen works however the videos are still displaying black. Cant seem to get it working?
