[In 11.6.0] Master fader in Lighting

Hey Mike

I am very happy about the new dmx lighting feature. And I am already using it a lot.

I could use a master fader on dmx lighting, because when I am on tour, there would be different sizes of stages. On small stages you might not need that much of light output and visa versa. Would it be possible to make this feature in future SCS?

Yes, I've been considering this as I've needed it myself! Should be fairly easy to implement.

While this is a good suggestion, I think you will need a way to exclude any DMX channels that are controlling things other than dimmers from being affected by the master fader. For example, if you had a moving head instrument, you probably would not want the master fader to change the dmx values controlling pan and tilt. One way to do this might be to add a checkbox beside each line in the "DMX Items" list.

For SCS 11.6 I've just completed the addition of an optional DMX Display window as requested elsewhere, and I'm now going to work on implementing a DMX Master Fader. To exclude certain DMX channels from the effect of a Master Fader I could either add a checkbox against each entry in a Lighting Cue as you suggest, or I could provide for a list of excluded channels in Production Properties / Devices / Lighting. This list would be entered in a text field in a similar format to that used in lighting cues, eg to exclude channels 7, 15 and 80-85 you would just enter "7, 15, 80-85". I would prefer the Production Properties approach as this does seem to me to be a global requirement for specified channels.

I vote for the option to set master fader exclusions in the properties of the production.
