Internet Connection Required for Registration?

Does the laptop upon which I plan to run SCS require an internet connection to complete the registration process, or is the authorisation string recognisable offline? At the moment, I have no plans to network the computer, so obviously this could be an issue for me.

No internet connection is required - the authorisation string can be entered offline.
