SoundForge markers and SCS loops

Post by mwfr » Mon Dec 29, 2014 7:50 pm

Working with both SoundForge Sony audio editor and SCS is very useful for editing loops.
In SoundForge you can easily edit and listen to the loops (Shortcut='Q').
You can put some markers at begining and at the end of your loop, any place you need to mark (Shortcut='M').
Then Save your file.
When you open your sound file in SCS, you will find all your markers in Edit menu, you can use them for =(start at, loop start at, loop end at, end at).

Another trick: very useful for marking verses and choruses in a song, so when rehearsing, you can start your Cues at verse1, verse2 etc.

Hi,
This is a function that interest me and that I would like to be able to explore if it is possible to use it with Reaper.

I did some tests with soundforge but I can not seem to get the markers in SCS. How you get the markers.
there is there a special handling to do in SF?
thank you for your help

In SF, just press 'M' key, marker will appear at cursor's position. You can rename it by right clicking on the top of the marker line. When you save your sound as a .wav file, markers and regions are automatically saved in the wav file in the header or the file (this is a specification in Microsoft wav file description). Some softwares respect this info, others do not. SoundForge doest it. SCS also (thanks Mike).
In scs, you can use these markers (if written in SF) for setting starts, loop starts and ends on Edit page, in the checkbox for every audio Cue.

Thank you.
I actually any good scorers with SoundForge, if I open the audio file with Reaper, one finds well markers and vice versa with SoundForge.
By cons with SCS, they are not present, at least visible.
I'll look in SCS.
thank you

Is it possible you to import once more audio cues on lequelle we could define for each cue a marker section of an audio file?
It seems to me that no, I have not seen anything about it yet but I know very well and that SCS is tedious when there are many markers.
thank you
