hi,
my theatre is going to buy scs 9 pro for our current production.
i'v already tested the demo and there's one thing i couldnt figure out-
i prepared a 4 channel wav file in cubase, but i cant see how to choose which of them go to which output.
my soundcard is internal realtek hd - it has up to 8 outputs. i'v tried routing stereo and mono files in scs to seperate outputs and it worked
fine. but what is the way for multichanneling without making seperate files for each output pair?
thanks
nom
multi channel routing

nom,
If you leave the Speakers field blank for your Sound Device in the Production Properties then SCS should play the 4 channels to their respective outputs. Could you try this, and check if you are getting output for all 4 channels? Outputs for channels 3 and 4 may possibly not be in the 3rd and 4th sound card outputs, so try the other outputs as well.

With multi-channel sample data, the channel order of each sample is as follows:
3 channels: left-front, right-front, center.
4 channels: left-front, right-front, left-rear/side, right-rear/side.
6 channels (5.1): left-front, right-front, center, LFE, left-rear/side, right-rear/side.
8 channels (7.1): left-front, right-front, center, LFE, left-rear/side, right-rear/side, left-rear center, right-rear center.
That's the theory anyway - if you don't get the expected results try the other outputs from your sound card.
Control of routing for a multi-channel audio file is not yet available in SCS, but this is on the list of features to be added.
