Am i missing a trick and not noticed a setting somewhere.
i am currently having a play with sub-cues (iv not used them in the 3-4 years of using scs)
is it possible to make each sub-cue still fire from the go button (not based on a time)
the reason im looking into this if for using SCS with bands who DO NOT play to a click track, but being able to send out midi commands at different parts of a song to make changes to my digital sound desk, or the lighting desk or other devices like media servers...
the reason i want to use sub-cues is so i can program which messages are triggered in each song (and in which order they get triggered) and be able to quickly drag the songs into a different order in the editor if the set list order changed at different gigs without having to manually move every cue involved in a song (maintaining the correct order) in the editor
Thanks
Sean R

Re: Manual Sub-Cues
Interesting idea, but unfortunately sub-cues cannot currently be manually started.
From your comments about not using a click track, is it your concern that timing could vary slightly for each performance, so you therefore cannot auto-start sub-cues after a pre-set time?

Yes Mike
That is exactly my concern, (and to make life just that little bit more interesting, sometimes a band i often work with may decide live to double up on a chorus of songs if the audience are enjoying it, so are reluctant to play to a click track as i have previously requested)

Hi Mike
I just wondered if you had given any further thought into implementing being able to manually trigger sub-cues, in any future releases as this feature would be really useful to myself for a variety of uses..
Thanks
Sean

Re: Manual Sub-Cues
I'll look into the possibility of adding 'Manual' to the 'Relative Start' mode. The main complication is that other parts of the program are geared around the 'GO' button activating a cue, not a sub-cue, so there are a few issues to sort out to make this possible.
Have any other users found a need to be able to manually start sub-cues?

Re: Manual Sub-Cues
Instead of using a subcue, make it a normal cue which auto starts after previous cue starts.
ie
Q4 starts 0 secs after start of Q3 (it is then acting as a sub cue of Q3)
If you run Q3, it also runs Q4 then moves onto Q5
but if you highlight Q4, you can manually start it with the 'GO' button.

Re: Manual Sub-Cues
Hi Sean,
I've just come across this topic so you may have resolved it by now but I did have this thought.
Depending on the amount of different Cues you require you could consider using Hot Keys, whereby a MIDI message/s for each command would be assigned a Hot Key. The Hot Keys could then be used many times throughout a show. You would then compile a cue-sheet (yes, on paper!) for each song which indicates the keys required for that song.
Hope that makes sense . . . Martin
