[Fix 11.2.3] SCS stuck on a cue
[Fix 11.2.3] SCS stuck on a cue
I have a large SCS file. 50 cues.
When it gets to cue 7 it plays it, but does not hilight as completed. It lines it up again as next manual cue. There are various manual & auto cues before & after it. Even if I manually select the correct next cue, it always goes back to cue 7 as the next manual cue. This is being triggered by a midi cc. Doesn't seem to happen when cues are being played by space bar.

Could you email me a diagnostic dump file? You can create this file by selecting 'Create Diagnostic Dump File' from the drop-down menu displayed when you click the Help button in the main window. The file will be saved in a folder named "SCS Dumps" under "Documents" or "My Documents".
It would be preferable to create the diagnostic dump file after reproducing the problem, ie after triggering cue 7 by MIDI.

Re: SCS stuck on a cue
Hiya
I had a similar problem. Although it was with cue 11 and I was running the show using the space bar. Each time I could select a cue with the mouse and execute it but then the next cue would show as cue 11. I restarted the computer to create a diagnostic dump file and the whole show ran perfectly so not much help I'm afraid except to say there does seem to be a bug.
Regards Tom

Could you email me a diagnostic file anyway - even if the problem does not recur? I can then at least look at your cue file, device map and settings.
Re: SCS stuck on a cue
Me too. I have emailed you the dump.
- I was playing Q420 and Q430, simultaneously on different channels. They were looping.
Q440 was pressed which faded out Q420 and Q430 (via subcues) and started Q440.
When Q420 finished fading out it set itself as the next queue.

Re: SCS stuck on a cue
Bill, Tom, 'thevin' and anyone else who encountered this bug:
One of the fixes applied in SCS 11.2.3 was related to the issue of the next manual cue sometimes being set back to an earlier cue. This fix specifically addressed this issue as reported by another user who I had provided a tracing version, and from the trace logs I was able to determine the cause and correct it.
So could you try 11.2.3 and see if this has fixed the problem? If any of you still encounter this problem with 11.2.3 then let me know and I'll send you details of a tracing version.

Bill has confirmed this fixed in 11.2.3.
Re: [Fix 11.2.3] SCS stuck on a cue
Mike,
Another one of my theaters is using SCS 11.2.3 with 15 video WMV cues. They have experienced the same restart of a cue.... (manual cue). I investigated the Video cue carefully, restarted SCS and it worked fine. Then a little later after a few edits, the same issue occurred again.... it would go back to same cue, and replay upon hitting space bar.
I then re-programmed the entire show... from scratch.... carefully keeping edits (cut and pastes) to a minimum. I then played show several times and all is OK. They got through rehearsals last night fine....Except they added a video cue and now all the videos stall 2 seconds before playing.
I am perplexed....
Unfortunately, the laptop is back in theater and I can't pull any diagnostic files to send you. If I see it again, I will dump diag file and send to you.
Regards,
Brian

Re: [Fix 11.2.3] SCS stuck on a cue
Ditto here. I have downloaded the update 11.2.3 and it really improved the problem but didn't eliminate it entirely. Before if it happened, I could not stop the cue even with the All stop button. (Escape) I would have to reboot the program and all would be fine until I had to edit a cue. Now I can stop the cue with the all stop. But if I go into edit, and changed the volume of a cue, then that cue will play but not indicate it has completed so, when I go to play the next manual cue, I will get two cues playing. Doesn't happen every time now that I have up graded but I can still make it happen. Hopefully during the show, there won't be any edits that need to be made, but in the cue to cue rehearsal, when you are constantly making changes to the show, it still will lock on to a cue and not move on. Maybe it only happens if you make changes while a cue is playing? I don't know. It seems random at this point. I am running windows 7. I think it is 64 bit.

Re: [Fix 11.2.3] SCS stuck on a cue
Rick,
I presume you mean you've "downloaded the update 11.2.4" (not 11.2.3)? Assuming that's the case, I've emailed you details of a tracing version to run.
