All, I just came across SCS today as I'm planning to automate the band performance

SCS seems to do nearly everything we have on our wishlist, but one key question remains before I hit that purchasing button: is there a way (supported or through a workaround) to integrate live video feeds from stage cameras (potentially using an external video processing server to keep the transcoding workload away from the SCS computer)? The idea is to put a couple of networked cameras on stage, randomly switched and have SCS pick up the video feed based on triggers in the SCS cue. Let me know if this can be done or if this is a future enhancement (I think I found the feature request here on the forum from 2007 but unsure if it has been picked up yet
Thanks!!
Marcel

Live video feeds are on the radar. Finding a good video library to use in SCS has been a real challenge which is why SCS 11.2.1 has been delayed so much. However, I'm now testing a video library that is performing very well and one of the features it has is video capture. So after I've released 11.2.1 with good video file playback capability I can look at adding live video feeds via a new 'live video' cue type.

Great, thanks. I was looking into the VisioForge Video Capture SDK in which live video feeds can be transcoded/processed in real time and I was hoping that something like this could be added to the SCS cue someway or another... would be anxious to learn more about an ETA (not pushing... just a heads up

Thanks,
Marcel

ETA for Live Video cues? Can't promise, but possibly 3-4 months time, assuming the new video library I'm trialing proves successful.

Hi Mike,
I have checked back on a regular basis, but any update on potentially supporting live video cues in SCS anytime soon? I'd hate to start all over again to identify a new solution which can support our dynamic show backdrop of recorded video, animations and (the plan...) live video.
Thanks!
Marcel

Sorry for the delay. I'll run some tests with xVideo (the video library now used in SCS) and report back.

Hi Mike; would first like to add my appreciation to that of all SCS users for the great software!
Just another request for an ETA on live video feed cues? Working in the Drama department of a UK university and SCS is our primary resource for cue management. Had a lot of requests recently for cutting and/or (*gulp*) crossfading between local video file playback and a live feed. Is this on the table for v11.4.0?
Many thanks again,
B

May not be in 11.4.0 but hopefully soon after. Using the TVideoGrabber video package, live feeds work fine - at least using my computer's inbuilt camera! - so the main requirement is to modify or create a cue type to handle this, and to code the necessary interface and camera control.

We too would love to add live video cues to our performance. I can see it is almost available, but how long will it take?
Thanks, Martin

Live video feeds should be available early next year. Sorry I can't provide this sooner.

I am doing a play that requires a periodic live video feed from a camera onstage projecting to a screen above the stage. It needs to resemble a live newscast - with archive video interspersed with the live feed.
I see that the software can handle live sound cue inputs. Is it able to handle live video inputs, as well?
I see that someone has been working on it.
Is it an option yet?
Thanks.

I know this has been dragging on for years, so I can only apologize for the delay. We're currently working on another enhancement, but the live video feed feature is scheduled next.

Hi Mike,
I'm following this thread for a while and do you in the mean while already have a clue about when we can expect this feature? It's currently holding me from buying SCS.
Hopefully you guys are already working on it so we can expect it soon

Coming in SCS 11.7.2. Work on this feature is almost complete. I didn't want to delay 11.7.1 as there were some important performance improvements and bug fixes that needed to be released.
