Having problem with the midi files loading in 8.4.4

Post by jmacmullen » Wed Apr 12, 2006 2:55 am

When the demo loads I am getting an error loading shineonyoucrazydiamond.mid. Error is Unsupported File Format. Any thoughts on this one? I have pulled other midi files and am getting the same error. Interestinly enough though the file will play in winamp.

Support for MIDI files was withdrawn in SCS 8.3.0 - see 8.3.0 under Recent Changes for an explanation. This only affects MIDI music files - SCS continues to support MIDI Send Cues and MIDI Control of Cues.

That file is however still present in the demo folder and is called by Q9 in the current version of demo.scs (or perhaps the version that remains if one follows the upgrade path), hence the error.

That would have remained if following the upgrade path, since the upgrade installer does not contain any of the demo files. The full download does not include the MIDI file, and Q9 has been removed from demo.scs.
