Hi
Congratulations on a great piece of software.
Is it possible to prevent the triggering of the next sound cue until the current one has ended?
If not, will this be a feature in the next version?
Do you have any idea when an upgrade will be available.
Thanks
Ade

Is the second cue manually started (eg by the GO button or mouse right-click) or do you want to auto-start this cue at the end of the first cue?
If you want to auto-start the cue then you just need to set the Activation Method to Auto Activate, and specify how long after the end of the selected cue you want this one to start.
However, if you want to just block the operator from starting a cue until an earlier cue is completed then, no, SCS doesn't have that feature.
Regarding when upgrades will be available, I'll spend a bit of time going thru the outstanding work and try to come up with an estimate.

That's a feature I require, so I can select loops of sound ad hoc via midi but ensure a loop plays out fully before the next selected loop begins automatically on completion of the previous loop, basically as a s/w version of the Roland RC20 loop/sample player.

icarusi,
I'm not familiar with the RC20, but my reading of your requirement suggests you want the MIDI cue activation message to be buffered until a previous cue has completed. Is that a correct interpretation of your requirement? Can you give me an example of how you would use this feature in an environment in which you use SCS?

Possibly. I need a loop to play continuously until I select the next loop (which could be a previous cue in the list) but that next loop to commence only when the previous loop has completed it's last turn.Mike Daniell wrote:icarusi,

I need to play audio loops selected by a midi foot controller whilst I'm playing an instrument. The order of the the playing of the loops will vary but each loop must play out fully before the next one begins (as per the Roland RC20 or Digitech Jam Man). Can you give me an example of how you would use this feature in an environment in which you use SCS?
I like the way you can create multiple loops from the same sound file in SCS. The RC20 and Jam Man (AFAIK) need descrete sound files per loop although the Jam Man has a USB connector for tranferring files, it's still monophonic.

OK, icarusi, I understand better what you are looking for. I presume at the moment you rely on pressing the footswitch at exactly the right time but want the flexibility of being able to press the footswitch a bit earlier and let SCS control the timing. This should be reasonably straightforward to implement - I'll add this to my list of Feature Requests.
The RC20 does it automatically, but only by stepping forward or backward through the memory 'slots', which are descrete and difficult to edit. It would be much better to use SCS's looping/editing implementation and midi control.Mike Daniell wrote:I presume at the moment you rely on pressing the footswitch at exactly the right time but want the flexibility of being able to press the footswitch a bit earlier and let SCS control the timing.
When it's implemented I'll forward the news to others who are also seeking this facility for live music use. This should be reasonably straightforward to implement - I'll add this to my list of Feature Requests.
