Gigaport HD

Post by acmeactor » Sat Apr 02, 2011 11:25 am

I'm sure I'm missing something simple but... I installed a Gigaport HD interface on our computer, connected to 7 mini amps to power 7 speakers (we have a very small theater). Here is the problem, the SCS will only allow me to assign 2 devices. All 7 speakers work but I can only assign 2. What am I doing wrong? Do I have to have a 7.1 card?

Thanks

Hi acmeactor . . .

From my experience drivers from different manufacturers display the audio outputs in different ways depending on the computer platform.

Try a couple of things . . .
1) If you have not already done so in General Options/Permanent Options/Audio Driver check the 'Do NOT use SCS internal mixer' box.
2) In the Editor/Production/Production Properties/'Mapping to Physical Devices on this Computer' section ascertain what options you have in both the 'Physical Device' and 'Speakers/Outputs' drop down boxes.
Some manufacturer's drivers display the device in the left column and the outputs for that device in the right column, whereas others display the device and it's outputs in the left column and you select stereo/mono in the right column.
Hope that makes sense . . .

Cheers . . . Martin
