Mike,
What I would like to be able to do is create a hot key (or 2 hot keys) that would allow me to
1) decrease volume level by X amount and then to
2) restore volume level to the original level
Within any given cue as it is playing, and to be able to do it however often changes are required. At present, this has to be done cue-by-cue, and cannot apply to "all playing cues" as we can do with SFR cues.
I'm not too particular with how it's done -- one cue that toggles on/off or two cues 'level change' and 'restore level', however makes most sense.
The goal is to decrease volume - evenly and smoothly - during dialogue and to restore volume to a higher level when singing resumes. More to the point is so that we can apply it on the fly, without having to program changes ahead of time.
Thanks.

Level change all playing cues
Re: Level change all playing cues
What you are asking for was examined in this thread and the outcome after a lot of discussion was the Master Fader. Have you tried using it? (See Help file) Its default keyboard mapping is (+), (-), (*), (Shift -) (all of which can be remapped). You can adjust the keyboard increments and the maximum of 1/10th gives - 3.7dB per (-) keypress and an instant restore with (*). Alternatively, using a smaller increment and the (-) and (+) keys, holding the key down should give a smooth transition in each direction based on the keyboard repeat rate. Admittedly you cannot set the target reduction for a single keypress with a timed fade, but some tweaking may give you what you want. It has the advantage that you can adjust the reduction on the fly, as the relative levels of cues and dialogue change through the show.

Any possibility of writing cues that can adjust the master fader level in a fade? that could be a graceful way of fading many cues up and down. Or it could be great to see relative fade possibilities with an all playing option like we get in SFR Cues
