Can anyone help with this one please.
Attempting to run on SCS 10.6.1 shows created under SCS 9. The file opens OK and looks normal. When any cue is played, the cue panel shows ‘PLAYING’ but the progress bar does not move, the time counters don’t run and (more to the point) there is no sound. Also no sound if run from Edit.
The problem is on our theatre PC. My home PC has no such problem. Both are desktops running XP SP2 and both with M-Audio sound cards (Delta 44 at home and 1010 at the theatre).
I’ve tried all the usual stuff - close and re-open SCS, shut down and reboot, make a change to the show in Edit and then re-save under SCS 10, uninstall and reinstall SCS. I don’t know what to try next.
Is there some obscure setting in SCS or Windows that I have wrong? Can any of you knowledgeable guys suggest anything please?

Hi there
I found the same thing if the soundcard that is assigned is not present on the pc. Try going to the editor and make sure the soundcard you are using is assigned properly in the production properties.
please correct me if i am wrong Mike.
I hope this helps.
Greig.

Martin,
Greig's diagnosis and cure is probably correct, although what should have happened is that you get a pop-up window telling you that some device or devices are not available, and asking you to nominate a substitute. Do you have one or more output devices that ARE common to both environments? Could you email me your SCS 9 cue file (the .scs file)?

Greig/Mike - Many thanks for your tips. Back at the theatre over the weekend so will explore then and let you know what I find.

Just to close this one off in case anyone out there has a similar problem. Mike identifed my problem and it has now gone away (thanks again, Mike). I have a M-Audio 1010 sound card and the "MultiTrack Driver Devices" on the Hardware Settings page was incorrectly set - it should be "Independent".
