I've using SCS since january, i tried many other programs before, and i really think SCS is the most useful program dedicates for diffusion in theaters.
I'm working harly for you !!, promoting SCS in all theaters i work with.
My problem is:
When i deliver a sound work in a theater, i ask them to use SCS.
It already happened several times since january.
Their first reaction is: why should we spend some money for a software we don't know how it works, because we have cd or md players for sound diffusion.
So when i know tem well, i tell them: "ok, try it, i install the software on your computer, for a determined period until the end of the season (end of june), and if it's ok for you, i ask you then to buy SCS from soundcuesystems.
So that's what happened for "Theatre de l'Oeuvre" and "Theatre Hebertot" in Paris.
I could not leave them a "locked editing" version, because they had to do somes changes in the sound, after i delivered my work (i'm free lance, so i create sound & musics, but i don't stay in the theater all the season play).
I know well these theaters, and i know they will contact you to buy SCS, because they really enjoy the software.
But i don't have the solution for theaters or compagnies that i don't really trust.
i always buy the softwares i use for working, and i think all people should do the same, so that you can earn your life with SCS, and develop further versions without money problem. i mean that from a very egocentic point of view

Sorry for that long introduction, that was just because i wanted you to understand the way of working in french theaters , and the snse of my suggestion.
My suggestion is:
Would you see an interest in creating a "SCS babysitting version" (i explain it..)
Kind of "lock editing" version, which could be fully edited by theater user, but the restriction would be:
1/ Software should be installed by a registered user.
2/ Software should be installed for a determined period (that's the important point). it means that i install SCS for a compagny on its computer for 1 or 2 months.
The compagny uses it for the show. When the show period is over, they don't have the use of the software anymore, exept if they buy it from your website.
I think that would at the same time:
1 - resolve the dilemn problem of installing SCS on a theater we don't know very well.
2 - Promote SCS every time it's possible.
