Best cables to connect sound card to Sound Board

Post by Roopepper » Fri Oct 26, 2007 1:41 am

Just bought M-Audio 7.1 card. was using one cable out, into 1/8 to 1/4" adapter to connect to sound board but now i need several more cables.

Are there any good bundled cables 1/8 to 1/4inch or should i just use several cables?

any type/brand suggestions greatly appreciated....

Thanks!

I don't know where you are located at, but you might want to check Full Compass in Wisconsin (http://www.fullcompass.com). I do quite a bit of business with them, and they can generally get or make stuff like that.

I went through the same issue with my Rev 5.1 and Rev 7.1. Hosa makes a bunch of good and inexpensive cables for this.

Option 1:
- CPP-800 series 8-channel snake
- 4 x YMP-137 Y connects 3.5mm stereo male to two TS female

Option 2:
- 4 x CMP-159, each is a 3.5mm stereo to two TS male cable

Check on froogle for prices. Geekbro.com is pretty cheap.

One pain with the Rev cards is that those 3.5mm jack holes are so close together you almost have to bend the outer jacks to get them in there.

The other thing about the Rev cards is that the outputs are not balanced, and I can hear the noise being picked up in the theater. As soon as other expenses are under control I think I'm going to invest the $$ in a balanced audio interface.
