If you have downloaded and installed SCS 9.4.x (eg 9.4.2) there is a bug that can cause the program to crash during initialization.
This bug is fixed in
9.4.3 which registered users can download from the
Members' Area.
Release 9.4.3 contains the following changes:
- Fixed a memory allocation error that could cause the program to crash during initialization.
- Fixed an error in setting the 'Go' button if skipping a Time-Based Cue with the new 'Manual Start' option.

Unfortunately, I get a crash with 9.4.3 too. TurboCad still trying to install something when I run SCS.
This is on a general purpose laptop, I'll look at the dedicated sound PC when I get to the theatre this evening.
Why didn't life's problems hit me while I was still a teenager, and knew everything?

Mike, I've loaded up 9.4.4 on my laptop and the theater PC, and am getting a hanging upon initialization. it gets to the point where it's about to resize the canvas to the window size, before it draws the GO and other buttons at the bottom. Then it hangs.
Interestingly, this happens only on a new windows user account that I just created for our latest production. All other user accounts seem to be able to bring up 9.4.4 without a problem. I'm running Win XP.
Any ideas on this one?
Thanks. John

That's a strange one, John. Seems like some permissions issue. I've emailed you for more info.

9.4.4 crashes on startup w/ one of the laptops I tried to use. We found it crashed when the firewire-connected soundcard was plugged in, but started correctly when it was unplugged. Kinda useless, that. (But it starts successfully on my other computer.)
