Fire an ETC MIDI Macro?

Post by Dan » Tue Apr 10, 2007 5:43 am

Hi, Mike! I just had a thought while I'm here at work, and wondered if there was a way to send an ETC MIDI Macro FIRE command through SCS. I've got a show coming up where I'd like to put a continuous loop of wind/rain/thunder on SCS, and I'd like to sync a lightning flash, and some other light modulations with the sound via MIDI cues from SCS to my ETC Lighting board. I know I can build some direct, numbered cues that will loop with the sound (since SCS can fire MIDI A/B cues by number). But, it would be nice to be able to set up serveral Macros on my ETC lighting board, that, when FIREd would perform the lighting effects independently of the programmed sequence of lighting cues.

I've checked my ETC Console MIDI commands, and it will accept GO, STOP, RESUME, and FIRE commands. Does SCS have the capability to send FIRE commands? :?:

Yes, Dan. Create a MIDI Send Cue in the Editor and set up a cue something like this:

You will need to set the Device Id to match the relevant MSC Configuration setting on your ETC board, and the Macro Number should be set as required for the cue.
