DMX control of SCS

Post by diecastbox » Sun Mar 04, 2007 12:53 am

Hiya for all those who like me would like to control scs from a lighting desk but only using a single DMX address as a GO there is a new product from Rosco that may be of interest. It is called keystroke and it lets you emulate key stokes on a keyboard with different DMX addresses so one address could be used as the space bar as your GO. Not a cheap product but could prove very useful.

More on Keystroke. . .

The Keystroke product is actually quite flexible in that you can program the unit to respond with different keyboard commands based on the DMX level sent. eg. 10% to 15% could be a GO command, and 16% to 20% could be the "ESC" key and so on up to 100% You can set your ranges to any increment that you want and have several different commands. The only caveat is that all of your Keystroke cues would need to have a zero time so that the unit does not send a range of commands as it fades up!

You can download the Keystroke software and view a demo of the unit HERE.

The price of the Keystroke unit itself is around $400.00 US List.

It can also be used to run PowerPoint shows and any other program on your computer that can be triggered via keyboard commands.
