SCS 9.2.8a startup problem

Post by jmgordon » Tue Nov 28, 2006 7:14 am

Mike,

I'm afraid I have the same problem with 9.2.8a as we had with 9.2.7 initially, i.e. SCS fails to open at all, the splash screen appears for a split second and then nothing.

This occurs with scs9minset and with scs9exeset. I hope you can spot the problem quickly.

I have reverted to 9.2.7a without problems.

Hi Jon,

Interesting to hear of your success. It might help Mike to trace any problems if you were to describe your computer set-up. I am running Windows XP Home SP2 on a system with an Athlon 2800+, 160 GB HDD and 1GB of memory. The soundcard is a Creative Audigy 2 Platinum.

I have tried a second download with the same result.

I'm seeing this problem with 9.2.8a, as well.

My system environment is as follows:

3.0 GHz Pentium 4 (Dell Dimension 4700)
512 MB RAM
Windows XP Pro SP2 (plus all current hotfixes)
M-Audio Audiophile 2496

Any ideas? I guess I can try reverting to 9.2.7a...

Puzzling. I've successfully installed this on three environments here - my development XP box, a laptop with Win2K, and my Apple iMac running Win XP under Parallels.

I've recompiled, packaged and uploaded 9.2.8a if you'd like to try again.

The recompiled version now works fine on both my desktop and my laptop.

Thanks very much.
