Windows 11
Windows 11
Mike,
The dreaded question which I'm surprised has not alredy been asked:
Aare you expecting SCS to work happily with Windows 11.
I need to buy a new laptop so I ask the question to see if I need to get one before they start shipping with Windwes 11 pre-installed. I can always insrall windows 10 instead but I'd rather not go through that mess about if I can avoid.
I appreceiate there is also the question as to weather my interface box and BCF2000 works but I'm thinking they should be ok so really just checking on SCS to begin with.
Phil.

Re: Windows 11
I'm not expecting there to be any issues with Windows 11, because if there are issues running SCS under W11 then I'd expect there to be issues with numerous other programs. However, I guess there's always the likelihood that a particular API used by SCS fails to function correctly. Hopefully that won't be the case with the MIDI library, which is used for the BCF2000 and other devices.
I'm not rushing into W11, but at some stage I'll upgrade my development laptop.

Tanks Mike,
I'm not keen to make the leap either. I've seen nothing that makes me think that I have to do it.
Maybe I'll invest now and save myself the downgrade option.
Phil.

Re: Windows 11
I've got a new laptop running with Windows11.
SCS is unstable on it - takes considerable time to settle down and when it does at best it takes several seconds to run the next cue after activation.
I had 11.8.2.2 installed - that was unstable so insytalled 11.8.5 but it's just the same.
All other software works fine.
Any thoughts please.
Thanks.

Re: Windows 11
Peter, I've emailed you a request for an SCS log file so I can see where any unexpected delays are occurring.

Peter, you sent me the cue file, not the log file. I need the log file.

A log file will have been created and saved in a folder named "SCS Logs" under "Documents", and the name of the file includes a time-stamp indicating when the log started. It will have a name something like this: scs11_log_20211106_185412.zip (where the date and time are part of the filename).

Re: Windows 11
I'll try to get to this tomorrow. I notice, however, that you are using SCS 11.8.2.2. Have you tried to SCS 11.8.5 under Windows 11?

Mike,
Yes - I updated to 11.8.5 on the Widows11 computer as I thought 11.8.2.2 may have been the problem.
8.2.2 works fine on windows10, but neither it nor 8.5 on Windows11.
Thanks for your help with this.

Mike,
The wind.1 file is too large for my email, so I've sent it by we-transfer to you.
Thanks.
