[Mod 11.8.3.3] m4v files

Post by Wilts20 » Sun Nov 29, 2020 6:54 am

Is there a list of supported video file types anywhere? I have just started to use SCS to play video cues and have some .m4v files. If I drag them into the editor I get an error message say that they are not supported. However, given that they are basically just H264, if I rename them to be .mov files (ie just renaming, no conversion) then then load in and play fine.

Clearly a simple workaround but I was wondering whether I am missing a setting somewhere that would enable be just to drop and drag them in.

Cheers

Paul

I've just run a test here using a couple of downloaded m4v (iTunes video) files, and the video playback library used by SCS does support this format, so I will add m4v support to SCS in the next release. The list of supported video file formats will then be "avi,wmv,asf,mpeg,mpg,mp4,mov,m4v,divx,mkv,flv,f4v,4fp,f4a,f4b,3gp,3g2,mts,m2ts,vob".

can you update the list of supported formats on your web page? https://www.showcuesystems.com/cms/features

Ian,

Will do. I'm considering dropping f4... as you had some major issues with an f4v file. Did you manage to get this resolved, apart from converting them to mp4?
