The new 11.8 fixture-oriented lighting commands are much more graphic and understandable for novice users.
BUT.
There does not seem to be any way in 11.8 to use the block-lighting descriptions that were so useful in 11.7.
The 11.7 simple lighting control string C11-L56:1-4@0 would turn off all RGand B elements in our 132 auditorium and lounge ceiling lights.
In 11.8, not only would that be 132 individual commands (yes you can group them if the fixtures are identical), but 11.8 can't handle all of those those plus our specialty lights controls in a single cue.
The bottom line is that I can't use 11.8 for our application. You broke it.
How about an 11.8.2.2 that includes the old way as well as the new?
I can see that 11.8 translates the fixture-oriented commands into a series of the old strings. How about giving me a null fixture and letting me edit/override that string.
Thanks.

Re: 11.8 Lighting Loss of Functionality
That should be feasible. I'll look into it for 11.8.2.2.

Re: 11.8 Lighting Loss of Functionality
I've emailed you a link to a pre-release of SCS 11.8.2.2 which should provide this functionality.
