Max DMX value for a lighting fixture channel

When I set up a lighting fixture I can set a Default Value for a channel. Would it be possible to also set a Maximum Value for this channel. The default would be 255.
The reason for this is we have just bought some fixtures that start a Reset function if the channel value is 250-255. I would like to be able to set that channel to a maximum of 249 so an accidental reset is not started.
