Mike,
I don't remember seeing you mention ASIO support, however, I had a very nice little surprise this evening. I recently bought a Edirol UA-1X USB Interface and it worked very nicely. It only gives 1 stereo pair, but its better than the onboard soundcard in my Dell Laptop. And the only drivers for it are the ASIO built in drivers.
Did I miss that announcement? Or just a pleasant surprise?
ASIO Support?

If you get good quality sound (checking with at least reasonably good speakers) then I'd expect everything to be OK. To provide better assurance, I suggest running a simulation of your shows / events. For example, run a cue list all the way through using the Edirol, and leave typically gaps between cues, so if in the show you are likely to have 15 minutes of non-SCS activity between two cues, then do the same in your simulation.
