Show Cue System

Hey, I'm running a show that has some slide projections. What I've learned from talking to some powerpoint users is that powerpoint is unsuitable for what I need it to do--namely, timing text animation and slide transition to music. Another option is to use pre-rendered video, but I run into an additional problem of needing to change the text every show (we get an audience member's name as part of the slides), which makes rendering a video almost impossible.

My question is, does SCS have a way to display editable text as a projection? I don't need to edit the text while it's actively being displayed, but I'm looking for a solution that takes as little time as possible from gathering an audience name to being able to display it towards the top of the show.

If anyone has any other advice, I'm also open to that as well!
