'live' playlist level control

Post by dougmiller » Sat May 10, 2014 10:47 am

is this possible?
say you start your pre show music and want to alter the level, but not by way of manual desk adjustment, nor master fader adjustment - in case you forget to re-adjust before the show starts for real? is there a way to either a) create a 'reset master fader cue' or b) adjust the playlist level on the fly??
hope that makes sense!!

There's currently no facility for achieving this, although there probably should be a way to adjust the playlist level on the fly, since it is a sub-cue property.

For now I suggest you:
  • Make level adjustments to pre-show music using the Master Fader, and
  • Add a Memo cue after your pre-show playlist cue, to remind you (or the operator) to reset the Master Fader if necessary.
  • The easiest way to reset the Master Fader is to click anywhere on the white marker in the fader - the fader will then snap back to the preset position.

It would be a great help to be able to adjust a playlist level while it is playing. I do theater and the same productions play in multiple venues with drastically different seating configurations and acoustic properties, thus making it necessary for me to be able to adjust playlist levels.
