List of Changes
The list provided below is more detailed than usual because the Help file has not been updated with this information.
- Added a Cue Activation Method of 'External (Trigger)', designed for cues that are normally activated by external equipment, eg from an incoming MIDI message. This activation method is similar to 'Hot Key (Trigger)' in that if the cue is currently playing when the message is received, then the cue will be restarted. (For cues with an activation method of 'Manual (Go Button)', if a 'play' command is given for a cue that's already playing then the new play command is ignored.)
- Added a Cue Property for 'Hide Cue Panel', which prevents the cue being displayed in the cue panels on the main window. This is useful for cues being activated rapidly and/or repeatedly (in non-linear run mode, or as hot key cues). You will probably need to scroll down the Cue Properties panel to see this checkbox. The Cue Properties panel will be redesigned in SCS 11.2.1 to position this checkbox immediately below the ‘Exclusive Cue’ checkbox.
- Bulk Edit has been updated to handle the new ‘Hide Panel’ cue property.
- Added a 'Find Cue' function to assist you in finding a cue in your Production. The Find function can be accessed either from the main window or from the Editor. In the main window, 'Find' is an option under the 'Navigate' button, or you can simply press Ctrl/F provided you haven't assigned Ctrl/F to a keyboard shortcut. In the Editor you can click the magnifying glass in the Editor Sidebar, or just press Ctrl/F. 'Find Cue' allows you to enter text and search for a cue containing that text in the cue description, sub-cue description or file name. The search list is dynamically refreshed as you type in the text.
- Added a MIDI Cue Control command to open a new cue file, provided the new cue file is included in the 'Favorite Files' list. For example, suppose you set this command to 'Control Change, cc 7'. If you send 'Control Change 7, value 4' to SCS then SCS will open Favorite File #4. (If entry #4 is blank then the MIDI command is ignored.)
- Ctrl/X, Ctrl/C and Ctrl/V now available in the Editor for cut, copy and paste of cues.
- Fixed an issue with the capacity of the millisecond timer. The Microsoft millisecond timer used for controlling cue starts etc has a limit of about 24 days before it overflows and starts returning negative values. The millisecond timer is initially set on booting up your computer, so we used to recommend you reboot your computer at least once every three weeks to avoid the overflow scenario. Timer overflows are now handled correctly in SCS 11.1.6 so it is no longer necessary to do this reboot.
- Fixed a few errors, including support for multiple MIDI In Cue Control devices (previously only one MIDI In device was handled).
- Fixed a couple of other errors.
