Changeing Cue types

Post by PhilVale » Mon Jul 29, 2013 8:09 pm

Typically when I get a new show I sit down and work out my sequence of cues and discuss with the director. In doing that I put them into Show Cue as Note Cue's so that I collect all the intitial information in one place.

Having got agteement with the director I set about generating the actual audio files and then re-enter as Audio Cues and deleting the original Note Cue's. This is because I cannot change the cue types and all the inforamtion I already have has to be copy and pasted into the new audio cue, messy and cumbersome.

Is there a way to either a) be able to change cue types - this specifically is from Note cue's to Audio cues - or b) allow Audio cues not to have an audio file associated with them so that the production notes can be collected then the audio file added at a later date when it's been created.

Regards,

Phil Vale.

Unfortunately it's not yet possible to change the cue type, but a work-around used by some users is to create your audio file cues with a 'dummy' audio file, and then change to the desired audio file later when you have the file you want to use. Using a short audio file of silence is a good option for the dummy audio file as this is obvious when you open the cue in the editor.

Mike,

Thanks - that was my plan B - I just wondered if I'd missed something.
