OK, I have just finished my first production using SCS (next one next week) and I am happy to report that SCS worked faultlessly. The total playback time was just under 90 minutes, in 20 audio files, with the shortest file 29 seconds long, and the longest file 40 minutes long. I was quite nervous after first having gotten glitches using the ASIO driver, but once having disabled that and not using the internal mixer, the system was stable. My two laptops were on and working almost 12 hours a day for 5 days straight with no hint of playback difficulty.
Next weekend is the next production. If all playback continues smoothly, I will take the next step and start to program sub-cues with volume changes etc.
Thank you to all on this forum for all the good help.

OK, this is another update to confirm that SCS worked perfectly for the second Ballet production. Definitely will use it next time also. It's a great stress relief that the work flow in the program is well designed - it's flexible during the design phase, and it's dead easy to operate in the performance phase, AND its reliable. The only limitation so far is that it cannot glitchlessly continue from one audio cue to the next if the transition is in the middle of a busy percussive moment. That, however, is usually easily remedied by moving the transition to a point with more smooth audio. This will not be a problem 99% of the time.
Wishing everyone Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, and Success and Inspiration for the New Year. Thank you forum members for your help in getting me up to speed using SCS with my computers.
