releasing loops with hot keys

Post by dmoes » Fri Nov 05, 2010 6:56 am

I was wondering if there is a way to make a hot-key loop end in this way.

press the hot-key and it plays from start of the file then loops from a chosen start point to a chosen end point.
then when I press the hot-key again it releases it from the loop continuing to play it from where it is to the end of the file then stopping. like Hotkey (toggle) but rather than stopping it immediately it will play out the sound file without looping again. I can do this only if I click on the "release from loop" button on the screen.

by using the keyboard all I can do, is to get it to start the loop, it loops but when I press the key again it just stops abruptly

In "Toggle" mode the hot key always stops or fades (if present) the running cue on the second press. Does it have to be the same hot key? It would be rather easier to start the cue with one hot key in "Trigger" mode then create a separate SFR cue, with your first hot key cue as the "Cue to be Actioned" and "Release" as the "Action Required", activated by a different "Trigger" hot key.

thanks :)

Yep that works for me one key to start and another to release and end the loop a little new to SCS just never thought of that.
