Cues failing to pre load from cue stack

Using 11.3.3 on laptop.
random cues do not pre load so when I reach them they do not play. If I left click on a previous cue then left click on the cue i want it then loads and plays perfectly and accepts the right click command to play. This has happened on three different nights with three different cues. I have to keep a constant eye on the list of "ready" cues.
The unloaded cue is both preceded and followed by cues marked - ready ?? This is a very busy show with over 100 sound cues.
