Using MIDI Files as a Sub-Cue

I'm wondering if any other SCS user has a bit more knowledge regarding MIDI Files than I do, if so I'd love to pick your brain.
I'm using SCS in live music productions and basically each Cue consisits of up to 8 audio Sub-Cues and a MIDI File Sub-Cue all starting together and running in sync. To achieve this it is necessary to ensure all the Sub-Cues are of equal length. I'm producing these Sub-Cues (audio and MIDI) by exporting them from between in/out markers in Cubase . . . hope that makes sense. All the audio files are, as expected, exactly the same length but the MIDI file never is . . . it can be longer or shorter. Changing the amount of data within the MIDI file does alter the length.
The result of this is, that not only does the MIDI file complete its run before or after the audio files, but that it also runs slighly out of sync.
Is there any way that when exporting a MIDI File from Cubase I can define the start and end points . . . I've tried putting note on/note off commands at the top and tail but that doesn't seem to achieve the result I'm after . . . .
Any advice would be welcome . . .
Cheers . . . Martin
