Show Cue System

Just bought an audigy 2 and a set of 7.1 speakers and am having problems with it. We bought the standard version of SCS for the last show, and it went well with standard stereo output.

I'm trying now to get it to use the different speakers and am having no luck. I've set the checkboxes in the audio driver as suggested but regardless of what speakers I pick, I can't get sound out of anything other than the front speakers. Is surround sound something that requires the professional version? Given that there is supposed to be 2 channel pairs selectable, i figured at least that I could get the rear speakers and the font speakers working independently, but this appears not to be the case.

Interestingly, while SCS is launched even the built in tools for testing the speakers are unable to address those speakers. When SCS is closed, there is no problem.

This seems to be a long-standing problem with SCS, and there is no fix in sight.

I had this problem last december, and worked with Mike to try to resolve it. To no avail.

Sounds like time to consider investing a little more money in a higher end card.

I've been using the M-Audio Revolution 5.1 and it works great. No problems sending sound to any of the six channels ... I can send a single sound cue to 5 channels simultaneously (the stereo default pair and three other mono channels) with full level/pan control, and I've set up two linked files to cover panning movements across all six channels simultaneously.

So I'm guessing (and has been mentioned frequently on this forum) that the Audigy API has some restrictions that the SCS/BASS driver can't deal with.

If you want to try M-Audio, incidentally I'm selling mine because I'm upgrading to the Revolution 7.1 to handle the needs for the next show. I've posted mine on craigslist ... and there are a couple more there too at reasonable prices.
