Show Cue System

I have just bought a secondhand TripleHead2Go to attempt to run 3 projectors from a laptop as we are going to put Pitmen Painters on at an external venue later this year. With some perseverance, we ran them on our internal system, by enabling the onboard graphics as well as a PCIe graphics card, but do not want to extract the rackmount PC from the theatre for the "touring" production.

Having downloaded the correct up to date drivers and PowerDesk software, the laptop displays the desktop spread across the 3 screens but SCS (11.1.5) seems to split each of the screens into 4, displaying the desired image in 1/4 of only one screen. Some images do not show at all.

I suspect that there is a combination of SCS and Matrox configuration which will make this work but I am blowed if I can find it. Any ideas?

I note that there was some reference to this in November last year but no specifics.

Both rackmount and laptop are Win 7 Home Premium 64bit; The TripleHead2Go is a Digital Edition connected via HDMI leads through DVI/HDMI adapters; projectors are 3No InFocus IN124STa; SCS 11.1.5; laptop graphics is standard Intel HD on board.

Anyone got any experience with this sort of kit?

Could you email me a diagnostic dump file? You can create this file by starting SCS (with the TripleHead2Go connected) and selecting 'Create Diagnostic Dump File' from the drop-down menu displayed when you click the Help button in the main window. The file will be saved in a folder named "SCS Dumps" under "Documents" or "My Documents".

I see your update plan is current, so please download and run SCS 11.4.0.3. If you still have problems then I'll email you details of a tracing version to run.

Thinking a bit more about this, I suspect the problem is in your Matrox setup. I don't have my TripleHead2Go available at the moment so can't guide you through this, but check the Matrox "Multi-Display Setup" settings. Note that you will have to restart SCS after making any changes as SCS checks screen sizes etc on start-up.

For the benefit of anyone else searching for help on this:
I checked both the Windows Graphics Properties and Matrox PowerDesk set up to show TripleHead2Go as 3 outputs (2:1, 2:2, 2:3).
Then open SCS and in main view go to Options/Video Driver Settings and select appropriate Split Screen configuration for Screen 2 (the TripleHead2Go). I did change to Direct Show from xVideo but do not know if this was necessary.
SCS then performed perfectly sending images to the appropriate projector (i.e. section of the expanded desktop).

I also had problems with image flicker and colour anomalies when using the TripleHead2Go (Digital Edition) using HDMI cables and DVI/HDMI adapters. I suspect this was caused by using very cheap adapters as changing to sending to the TripleHead2Go via a VGA lead and using DVI/VGA adapters and VGA cables to the projectors eliminated these problems.
