SCS and Windows 10?

Hi Mike,

Since the Windows 10 release is coming shortly, I must ask - have you been doing any testing of SCS with Windows 10?

No, I haven't yet tested SCS with Windows 10. I know there's a 'Windows Insider Program' that would allow me to try a pre-release or Windows 10, but that all takes a lot of time and the dedication of a machine to the task. From what I've read I'm not expecting any significant issues, but I do plan to purchase a new Windows 10 machine - probably a tablet - when they are released.

I signed up for the free Windows 10 update, once it's released. Of course, it may be unwise to actually update my one laptop before all the app dependencies have been sorted out. Maybe I can run it in a virtual machine container to kick the tires.

I briefly tried SCS with an early Windows 10 pre-release build a few months ago and it seemed to be working normally with the SCS demo file, but it wasn't a comprehensive test and I was only using the internal sound card not the external one we use at the theatre.

I bought the smallest, cheapest SSD I could find and temporarily switched out the hard drive in a production machine so I could do this type of testing without buying a new machine or messing with the Win7 configuration on our production machine.

I can now confirm that SCS is supported under Windows 10. The documentation will be updated when the next release is issued.
